I spent my Monday working on 32 red velvet whoopie pies (that’s 64 halves + 32 sides of frosting!) for the mother of a very special customer of mine. They’re going to be given as gifts to her friends. I hope her friends love them! ^_^

    The Red Velvet Loaf!
I have some good news & some bad news. I’ll give you the bad news first. The red velvet whoopie pies are being pulled from my regular menu. Again?!!! I know. This time permanently. I love the whoopies. And I know you guys do too. But they are A LOT of work and delay orders. So I will only offer them for special orders of 1 dozen or more. R.I.P. Red Velvet Whoopie Pies (07/01/11-11/29/11)
Now for the good news! About 2 weeks ago, I was in the kitchen making whoopie pies and was trying to figure out what to do with the leftover batter. I didn’t want to waste it & was trying to avoid making more whoopies & eating them. I opened the pantry and noticed that I had loaf pans. So, I poured the batter into the pans & put them in the oven and the end result was the lightest, fluffiest red velvet “loaf” I’ve ever tasted. Well, it was actually the only red velvet loaf I’ve ever tasted but I digress. I baked a few more because I ate an entire one that night by myself & sent them out to friends and received rave reviews so now I’m offering them to you!
The red velvet loaf comes in 2 sizes. The *small loaf ($7) yields about four 2” slices. The *large loaf ($14) yields approx. eight 2” slices. Both come with a side of my vanilla cream cheese frosting.
